High performing teams don’t just happen. Forming a team charter is the key element that lays the groundwork for teams to work more effectively and efficiently. As pressures build, using a charter enables teams to remain focused on their agreements and end results. Most charters have the end result articulated. However, team members may not know what success will look like, what operating norms and values they will work under, or understand the gap between current reality and desired reality. SRC’s High Performing Team Charter Process is a multi-pronged approach that gives leaders and their teams the structure to achieve clarity around Mission, Vision, Goals, Metrics, Timelines and Resources. In addition, this process addresses those things that act as the “glue” for successful High Performance Teams: values, operating norms, and gap analysis--identifying where the team is, where it needs to be, and what needs to be done to get there. The High Performing Team Charter Process can be presented as a train-the-trainer to managers for implementation with their teams, or as a team process facilitated by an SRC consultant.
